Visual Identity, Print and Digital Design

Kismet Cafe is a health-focused sanctuary nestled in the heart of Venice, CA, where farm-to-table dining is reimagined. As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a warm, homelike atmosphere that invites you to relax and savor the experience. This project involved a comprehensive suite of services, including full branding, print design for restaurant assets, and digital design for the business website.

Earthy, green, fresh, local, and homegrown—these words perfectly capture the essence of the Kismet Cafe brand and are reflected in all its visual elements. The color palette is directly inspired by the fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that are grown, cooked, and served daily, creating a visual harmony that echoes the cafe’s culinary philosophy.

The typography combines modern lines and curves, lending a contemporary flair to the classic farm-to-table concept and presenting Kismet Cafe as your new modern farm-next-door. With the branding firmly established, the print design phase followed, encompassing menus and takeout bags. All printed materials were crafted using 100% recycled paper, reinforcing the cafe’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, which lies at the heart of its identity.

Next, the digital design phase seamlessly integrated Kismet Cafe's branding into the online experience. The website was meticulously designed to blend photography and typography in a way that mirrors the cafe's in-store ambiance. The primary objectives for the website were to provide a comprehensive overview of the brand, offer an easy-to-navigate menu, and ensure accessible contact information.

In addition to these core functions, the website also features engaging content that tells the story of Kismet Cafe’s dedication to fresh, local, and sustainable food practices. High-quality imagery of the dishes, interior decor, and the local farms supplying the ingredients were included to further connect visitors with the cafe's mission and values.

Overall, this project not only established a strong, cohesive brand identity for Kismet Cafe but also created a seamless bridge between the physical and digital customer experiences, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the cafe's ethos of health, sustainability, and community.
